A wet room is a shower room with a completely waterproof flooring membrane which avoids the need for a shower tray. Water drains via a slight gradient into a single drainage point, usually located in the floor space below the shower head. Wet rooms are ideal for wheelchair users as they provide unrestricted access to the shower. They provide level access flooring, which means that there are no steps or obstacles to navigate when using the wet area. Our wet rooms include a slip resistant surface (R11 slip rating) for safety underfoot.

INSTALLING A WET ROOM

Professional installation is necessary to ensure that the room is completely waterproof and efficient in its drainage. It’s quite a complex process, but our fully trained installers will ensure the slight gradient required is measured and constructed correctly to ensure that the water flows correctly into the drain.

WET ROOM DOORS AND ENCLOSURES

Unlike shower trays, wet rooms don’t have a clearly defined showering area, this makes them compatible with most shower doors, screens and enclosures. All our enclosures can be fitted to a wet room. We can design a wet room solution to meet your individual needs and requirements. For example, the space can be left open if you require wheelchair access. We can also offer a selection of different shower screens to contain the splashes of water if you would prefer to keep the rest of your bathroom as dry as possible.
